Foundation/Corporate Grant
BEF is pleased to welcome the Peoples Foundation for Better Opportunity (PFFBO) to our list of community partners. Introduced by School Board President Sunita Garg, we soon learned of our shared missions to create opportunities for underprivileged people in both their educational success and future prosperity. Together, we will be able to support students at Mountain View Middle School to provide safe and welcoming before school activities to boost attendance and improve homework completion. We are very proud to receive their support!
Community Giving
72 miles in 20 hours and 30 minutes. Washington County Sgt. Eamon O'Reilly (and North Plains Chief) placed 33rd out of 62 participants running the Bristow Loop Race. Donors supported Sgt. O'Reilly with pledges to support BEF's Ready to Learn initiative in support of students in special education.
Legacy / Endowed Giving
In 1961, they were the first to walk across the stage and receive their diplomas from Sunset High School. Today, 65 years later, those inaugural graduates are leading the way once again.

The Cultural Coalition of Washington County and the Oregon Cultural Trust helped boost the arts in Beaverton schools with a recent gift for the 2026 Signal to Noise Student Film Festival. Community Giving
Thanks to the Rotary Club of Beaverton, 400 low-income students went home this summer with a bag full of new, high interest books to encourage a love of reading.

Through a gift from the Braemar Charitable Trust, BEF helps middle school students access school music. Grant funds are helping repair band instruments so that students can learn to play regardless of their ability to buy or rent instruments and to support "sectionals," during which small groups of beginning band students get focused attention to learn their instruments.

Analog Devices Inc and BEF are working together to increase student access to STEM educational opportunities related to robotics and electrical engineering. Last month, BEF, Analog Devices, and the Beaverton Digital Curriculum Team worked together to create a learning experience for Technology Instructors ("TIAs") to learn from each other how to use the latest in coding robots.
Community Giving
For 37 years, Herzog Meier Auto Dealers has been the driving force behind the Herzog Meier Senior Art Show, providing a professional gallery setting for high school seniors to display their work. Thanks to Herzog Meier for supporting these seniors with over $240,000 in scholarships over these 37 years.

First Tech Federal Credit Union's longtime partnership supporting education in Beaverton has laid the groundwork for future scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians and resulted in a lifetime investment in BEF of more than $800,000.
