A Sweet Homecoming: Creo Chocolate Opens in Beaverton and Invests in Students

Brand-new neighbor, long-time community member, and a graduate of Beaverton schools (Sunset High School Class of 1974): Welcome to Beaverton, Creo Chocolate!

When Creo Chocolate opened its new shop at Cedar Hills Crossing in September, the line stretched out the door. For the Straub family, the day was also a homecoming. Co-owner Tim Straub grew up just down the road from the new shop and graduated from Sunset High School. Now he and his son, Kevin, have brought their family-owned, award-winning chocolate back to the community where the family’s story began.

“This opening is different for us, because my dad and mom grew up right around here,” says Kevin Straub. “This is a very special place for all of our Creo family.”

That connection shaped how Creo opened its doors. During opening week, 10% of the shop’s revenues went to the Beaverton Education Foundation (BEF). Their gift will help advance BEF’s work across the district, including math initiatives at William Walker and Barnes elementary schools, Creo’s neighborhood schools. Every customer who stopped in that first week became part of an investment in Beaverton students.

Thank you to Tim, Kevin, and the entire Creo Chocolate team for investing in our students from day one. The next time you’re celebrating an anniversary or a birthday, or just need a treat, visit Creo at 2855 SW Cedar Hills Blvd.

Are you a local business that wants to make a difference for Beaverton students? We’d love to talk with you about partnering with BEF.
