Sgt. O’Reilly: Loops, He Did it Again!

72 miles in 20 hours and 30 minutes. Washington County Sgt. Eamon O'Reilly (and North Plains Chief) placed 33rd out of 62 participants running the Bristow Loop Race. Donors supported Sgt. O'Reilly with pledges to support BEF's Ready to Learn initiative in support of students in special education.

In 2024, Sgt. Eamon O’Reilly and K9 Deputy Dog Radar first partnered with Beaverton Education Foundation to raise awareness about hands-on learning experiences for students in Special Education. Since then, hundreds of fans and friends of Sgt. O’Reilly and Radar have helped BEF invest more than $50,000 in programs and initiatives that directly support students in special education across Beaverton schools.

Sgt. O’Reilly took up his latest challenge — the Bristow Loop Race — and encouraged his fans to support BEF’s Ready to Learn initiative that will help equip specialized program classrooms with movement and sensory gear designed to help students regulate their bodies to focus their minds.

Running for 20 hours and 30 minutes, Sgt. O’Reilly logged 72 miles over 67 loopsraising nearly $7,000 from supporters who care for both their Sergeant friend and our Beaverton students.

From marathons to BEF’s National Dog Biscuit Day and now the Bristow Loop, we are grateful for the Sgt. O’Reilly and his dogged determination to support Beaverton students.
