Teddy Bear Clinic for K-1 Students

High school students from the Health Careers program have purchased adorable teddy bear patients, setting the stage for a series of appointments at various elementary schools. These future doctors and nurses are on a mission to teach K-1 children all about what it means to visit a doctor for a check-up, making health education as cuddly as a teddy bear hug!

ACMA Students Leap to Higher Levels with Proper Dance Footwear

ACMA’s program welcomes dancers of all levels from beginner to advanced. With donor support they were able to raise funds to purchase dance shoes, including tap and character shoes for students to use as loaner shoes while in class or after school programs.

Beaverton Band Together

Since 2014, Beaverton Education Foundation’s Beaverton Band Together initiative has expanded musical education for students in all Beaverton public schools, from providing musical instruments and performance opportunities to opening their minds to new genres, artists, and experiences.

Helping School Nurses Help Students

School nurses are an important part of our community, helping students stay healthy. BEF supports the 25 district nurses with medical kits to help them respond to student needs and professional memberships that, among other benefits, gives them vouchers for free eyewear to distribute to students.

Beaverton Science Expos

BEF, Beaverton and Hillsboro School Districts partnered to put on a robust science expo program in 2025. BEF focused on empowering middle school students to see themselves as scientists who are capable of problem solving, discovery, and knowledge creation.

Trades Exploration

BEF invests in career-connected learning activities that help 75 middle schoolers learn about construction, auto tech, and manufacturing CTE programs available in Beaverton high schools. As a result, these 7th and 8th graders are better prepared to move onto high school and many discover new career aspirations. High school students benefit as well as they provide peer-to-peer learning opportunities as they show off the skills they have learned and talk about career and college plans after graduation.

Aloha Coffee Caboose

BEF invested in career connected learning at Aloha High School where students in the special education programs were able to explore new job skills through working in the Coffee Caboose, a classroom coffee shop experience that helped students develop barista, marketing, and customer service skills.

BASE Rocks Afterschool Music Club

During the 2024-2025 school year, BEF’s support launched an afterschool club that focused on creativity and music at this predominantly STEM option school.

Mural Project

BEF invested in hand on, experiential learning at Ridgewood Elementary School, helping students to broaden their perspectives and build community through art over a year-long project to design a welcome mural in the school entrance.
