Art has the power to bridge worlds and bring people together. With your support, Whitford Middle School can embark on three projects to use art to build connections between students.
- Through the Adire Tie Dye Project, students will transform plain cloth into vibrant masterpieces. They will connect ancient Nigerian traditions with modern design while exploring the chemical reactions of natural dyes.
- Students in social studies will explore cuneiform writing, create rangeli with colored sand during Diwali, and explore other art projects to connect them to ancient cultures.
- Leadership students will use art to build a stronger community throughout the school by creating cultural bulletin boards, hand-crafted appreciation gifts for staff and community members, and monthly art projects in collaboration with one of the special education classes. A variety of other activities are also in the works by Leadership students to foster a positive school climate.
