At Mountainside High School, we believe that true education extends beyond traditional textbooks—it empowers every student with the confidence and practical skills needed to navigate the world independently. Our Structured Routine Center (SRC) and Independent Skills Center (ISC) serve vibrant, determined students working toward individualized learning and life goals. While our school features a wonderful functional apartment equipped with a full kitchen, we face a critical challenge: we lack the ongoing funding needed to buy the actual ingredients that bring this space to life.
Your support will bridge this gap by funding weekly grocery purchases for our life skills program. With your gift, students in these programs will work alongside general education Peer Mentors to plan balanced meals, construct shopping lists, navigate local grocery aisles, manage budgets, and safely cook in our kitchen.
This project goes far beyond teaching recipes; it builds self-reliance, functional math and literacy, fine motor strength, and meaningful social connections across our entire student body. By contributing today, you directly equip our students with essential life skills that unlock greater independence for adulthood. Thank you for investing in our students’ futures!
