Beaverton Band Together

Since 2014, Beaverton Education Foundation’s Beaverton Band Together initiative has expanded musical education for students in all Beaverton public schools, from providing musical instruments and performance opportunities to opening their minds to new genres, artists, and experiences.

Braemar Charitable Trust

Through a gift from the Braemar Charitable Trust, BEF helps middle school students access school music. Grant funds are helping repair band instruments so that students can learn to play regardless of their ability to buy or rent instruments and to support “sectionals,” during which small groups of beginning band students get focused attention to learn their instruments.

Trades Exploration

BEF invests in career-connected learning activities that help 75 middle schoolers learn about construction, auto tech, and manufacturing CTE programs available in Beaverton high schools. As a result, these 7th and 8th graders are better prepared to move onto high school and many discover new career aspirations. High school students benefit as well as they provide peer-to-peer learning opportunities as they show off the skills they have learned and talk about career and college plans after graduation.

Middle School Summer Band Camp

BEF makes Middle School Summer Band Camp affordable for everyone by providing financial support that served 240 students this summer with a two-week intensive musical experience.
