Analog Devices

Analog Devices Inc and BEF are working together to increase student access to STEM educational opportunities related to robotics and electrical engineering. Last month, BEF, Analog Devices, and the Beaverton Digital Curriculum Team worked together to create a learning experience for Technology Instructors ("TIAs") to learn from each other how to use the latest in coding robots.

Support from Analog Devices is increasing access to STEM through distributing robotics and circuitry kits to Title I elementary schools, as well as through the Tech Innovation Lending Library. This library is a partnership among the district and BEF which facilitates access by all elementary and middle schools to technology learning tools. ADI’s support recently brought together Technology Instructors from 17 elementary schools to learn from each other how to engage students in STEM using the latest technology. The Tech Instructors teach weekly “tech specials” to all elementary school students.

Thanks to ADI, three elementary schools got early access to new tech tools. Each school’s TIA demonstrated how to use the new equipment and shared lesson plans they developed to engage students in learning. Here is the TIA from William Walker ES showing off the BeeBots which are especially good for working with younger students.
