It All Adds Up!

BEF and the KLA Foundation are working together to boost K-3 math achievement among Beaverton students. The KLA Foundation recently awarded BEF a three-year grant of $150,000 to support best practices that help students get a good start in math. With KLA Foundation's support, and working with the Beaverton School District, we will engage cohorts of Title I elementary schools that will get additional professional development for teachers, "math-rich" classroom environments, before or after school math help, and at-home and/or family engagement activities - all related to math.

“Proficiency in math in the early years matters because students with a good start in math will do better in their academic journeys” said Lauren Garrett, Executive Director of the Beaverton Education Foundation. “With KLA Foundation’s support, we can help put a comprehensive suite of strategies together to support multiple teachers across multiple schools to benefit thousands of students.”

“We are so thrilled to include the Beaverton Education Foundation as a 2025 Education Opportunity Fund grantee,” shared Jen Shea, President of the KLA Foundation. “Your commitment to expanding access to high-quality educational opportunities aligns deeply with our mission to empower communities through learning, innovation, and inclusive opportunity.”
