David and Christine Vernier, long-time friends of BEF and the sciences and technology in the classroom, joined Kristine Baggett, Executive Director of BEF at Raleigh Hills for a Future Ready Day with Future Bus. As part of the visit the group observed Mrs. Christie Holte’s 4th grade class where the students built WeDo Lego flood gates and worked with an augmented reality sand table to further discuss and see the impact of their proposed flood gate and and water monitoring work.
Denise Shier, the Library and Instructional Technology Teacher at Raleigh Hills (K-8) shared, “It was great that you were able to come visit Raleigh Hills K-8 this week. Thanks so much for the help through the BEF grants that we have received at Raleigh Hills over the years. They have helped our instructional program in so many ways.”
